Mourning what was not there
Kkcalloway @kcalloway1 min read · 1 reads
It is a terrible thing,
to spend your life wishing it elsewhere,
only to find yourself
mourning the places
you could not bear to stay.
And what grieves me most
is knowing that somewhere
in those ordinary afternoons,
someone must have looked at me
with love,
and I was too busy
waiting for my life to begin
to notice that theirs
was already ending.
